Magnetiq Bank has concluded a pilot project for the Microsoft Copilot artificial intelligence tool, aimed at making HR processes more convenient, faster, and more accessible for both employees and the human resources (HR) team. The project was implemented with co-funding from the European Union Recovery Fund (NextGenerationEU).

Within the framework of the project, Magnetiq Bank developed and tested digital assistants in its Microsoft 365 environment over a two-month period to support human resource management processes. The solution allows employees to receive answers to everyday questions within seconds, such as queries regarding vacations, internal policies, or employment relationship matters, using Microsoft Teams.

Currently, the solution has not yet been rolled out to all bank employees. The pilot phase has concluded, and based on the testing results and feedback received, necessary improvements are being made to enable a wider implementation in the future.

“On a daily basis, HR teams spend a lot of time answering similar questions and helping navigate various processes. We wanted to understand if artificial intelligence could become a practical assistant that eases this workload. The pilot results confirmed that it is possible. Currently, we are continuing to refine the developed solution to implement it more broadly in the future and provide an even more convenient user experience for employees,” says Aiga Babre, Head of HR at Magnetiq Bank.

During the pilot, two specific HR use cases were developed and tailored to the bank’s needs. The solution leverages generative artificial intelligence capabilities to answer employee questions in natural language, based on the bank’s internal documents and guidelines.

Crucially, the creation of the solution did not require complex programming or additional technical infrastructure. It was developed using Microsoft Copilot Agents capabilities, which allow organizations to build digital assistants using a no-code/low-code approach.

Data security and confidentiality are particularly vital in the financial sector. Therefore, all data and conversation history used in the solution remain within the bank’s Microsoft 365 environment and are processed in accordance with the bank’s security requirements and General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) conditions. They are not used to train public AI models.

This project marks another step in Magnetiq Bank’s digital transformation journey, proving that AI solutions can provide practical benefits in daily work while maintaining the highest security standards. At the same time, it has provided valuable insights on how to improve and prepare such solutions for successful implementation in the future.

About the Project

The project was implemented with the support of the European Union Recovery and Resilience Facility plan (Recovery Fund / NextGenerationEU) within the framework of the investment “Support for Digital Transformation of Enterprises and Innovation Introduction.”
